Measuring Change is a free, practical toolkit designed to help volunteer-involving organisations and community groups plan, measure, and communicate the impact of their programs. Through accessible guidance, templates, examples, and an accompanying online learning platform, the resource supports organisations to develop program logic, identify meaningful outcomes and indicators, collect and analyse data, and use evidence to strengthen decision-making, demonstrate impact, and drive continuous improvement.

The resource supports volunteer managers to plan and evaluate volunteer programs more effectively by providing practical tools to measure volunteer contributions, experiences, and outcomes. The Foundations Pathway was co-designed with grassroots organisations to ensure it is achievable and accessible, while the Deeper Learning Pathway supports organisations seeking to embed more advanced impact practices. By providing common language, practical tools, and opportunities for ongoing learning and collaboration, Measuring Change helps organisations strengthen their evaluation capability, demonstrate outcomes to stakeholders and funders, and better communicate the difference their volunteers make in communities.
