Generational Preferences in Volunteering
The research highlights that each generation has distinct preferences for recruitment, recognition, and retention. For instance, older generations like the Silent Generation and Baby Boomers prefer traditional methods such as word-of-mouth recruitment and annual recognition events. In contrast, younger generations, including Generation X, Y (Millennials), and s, lean towards digital platforms for recruitment and prefer more immediate forms of recognition, like thank-you emails.
